To Be Blessed Or To Be A Blessing.

When we meet people for the first time, it's easy to judge them based on how they look, how they are dressed, how they talk, etc. We then have a choice in our judgement. It can either be positive or negative. This week I learnt that I can determine on doing something different than judging people I come across. I can ask myself,  "What can I learn from this person or what good do I have that I can teach or give to this person?"  In having this kind of attitude, it means that I see people from God's perspective.  I can choose to see that our paths are crossing for a reason. They're either meant to be a blessing to me or, I'm meant to be a blessing to them. So I encourage you, the next time you meet someone, instead of judging them, ask yourself,  "Is this person meant to bless me or I'm I meant to bless them?" Whichever the answer to that question is, it will put you in a position where you will learn to treasure others instead of judging them. Un...

How I’m Preparing For Adventures In God In 2025

We decided to spend this year’s end away from home in a hotel for a change. This is where I’m writing this blog from.

As I prepare for 2025, there are many ideas that are crossing my mind but I have to be careful not to over estimate my capabilities. It's important to learn to live in the beauty of one day at a time - Matt. 6: 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Here are the two things I need to remember

1. Don't let the good keep me from the best. - Luke 10: 40-42

But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” - Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭40‬-‭42‬ ‭NLT‬‬

2. Don't let anything Crowd out the word of God from my life. - Mark 4:19

but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.”‭‭ - Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My goal is to follow Jesus’s advice to Martha.

My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Instead of trying to spread myself thin by doing a lot of things, I’m going to work on focusing on a few “needful”things, the Word of God being number one.

Because I'm already doing about of things, my goal is to eliminate everything that doesn’t contribute or takes away from my Goal of focusing on God. Like Martha trying to care for Jesus, these may be good things but it doesn’t mean they’re the needful things.

What Does That Practically Look Like For Me?

  • "Avoid" YOUTUBE - For me, this is the most social media platform that takes a lot of my time.
  • Seek of/Inquire from God instead of looking for "worldly"knowledge - eat from the tree of life instead of from the tree of knowledge.
  • Develop the discipline of separating myself unto God.

Tools I Will Use

  • All The Stories Of The Bible by John Walsh

Many people usually start off with the goal to read through the Bible in a year but usually get off track. I’m one of those people. The Bible can sometimes be overwhelming as a whole if you want to read through it.

So I have come up with an idea that I hope and pray will work this time. I found a resource that has all the Bible stories in the Old and New Testaments. My idea is to focus on reading through the stories chronologically.

Walsh has done a good work in retelling these stories without them losing their meaning.

Because these are just the stories in the Bible, it makes it easier to keep the momentum going and you can always go and read the whole content and context when something captures your interest.

  • A journal and Blogging
Because I want to avoid YouTube, I can’t just avoid it. That will be hard to do. I need to replace it. So my idea is to use journaling and this blog as a way to not only replace YouTube but also stay accountable to the process. This will help me stay focused and also give me a chance to share my lessons with others.

Family needs me we’re going somewhere. I will catch you in 2025.

Until then,

Stay blessed!

Moses

  2. Hello, I'm no longer with JB Hunt but they need a minimum of three months of driving experience. When you get 3 months, just give them a call and see what they have available that will meet your needs.
