To Be Blessed Or To Be A Blessing.

When we meet people for the first time, it's easy to judge them based on how they look, how they are dressed, how they talk, etc. We then have a choice in our judgement. It can either be positive or negative. This week I learnt that I can determine on doing something different than judging people I come across. I can ask myself,  "What can I learn from this person or what good do I have that I can teach or give to this person?"  In having this kind of attitude, it means that I see people from God's perspective.  I can choose to see that our paths are crossing for a reason. They're either meant to be a blessing to me or, I'm meant to be a blessing to them. So I encourage you, the next time you meet someone, instead of judging them, ask yourself,  "Is this person meant to bless me or I'm I meant to bless them?" Whichever the answer to that question is, it will put you in a position where you will learn to treasure others instead of judging them. Un...

It's Important To God - How We Lead Our Families

Just so we're on the same page, what I call a week is based off of my work week. In case you don't know, I'm a regional truck driver. For me, that means I go away from home for five days then come back for two or three days at before I go back on the road. So my weeks are not typical weeks because they're rotating days. Now that you know what I mean by my first week of 2025 may be different from yours, my first week started off the year well. I have learnt a lot of things. I cant share everything I have learnt but I will share one that stood out the most for me.  Before I do that, If you read my last blog, I talked about how I start out the year with a desire to read through the bible but I have never been able to accomplish it. Well, this week reminded me of the reason why that is so. Every time I start out to read through the bible in a year, I find myself caught up in a scripture, topic or character that I want to study more. So I go off on a tangent and leave the r...

How I’m Preparing For Adventures In God In 2025

We decided to spend this year’s end away from home in a hotel for a change. This is where I’m writing this blog from.  As I prepare for 2025, there are many ideas  that are crossing my mind but I have to be careful not to over estimate my capabilities. It's important to learn to live in the beauty of one day at a time - Matt. 6: 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Here are the two things I need to remember 1. Don't let the good keep me from the best. - Luke 10: 40-42 “ But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” - Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭...

A New Adventure For A New Year - Adventures In God

Like most people, every new year comes with excitement for me. I don’t know what it is but I never fail to feel the excitement of a new beginning. Even when I don’t see the physical manifestations of the things hoped for through the year, I’m glad I still have hope every end of the year for the new year. The biggest expectation of this new coming year for me is self development. That is why I’m beginning this blog today. To set it up and be ready for 2024. It’s going to be my way of reflecting on the things that matter to me. Things that may seem small to some but are very impactful and life changing to me. Like today. I went out with my ten year old daughter on an errand and for the first time I asked her to ride in the front seat with me. I don’t know why, but I treasured this moment. It may seem like nothing to many but to me, it was my way of connecting with her. And I thought it is a good way to prepare for the start of the journey by blogging about it because it captures one of ...
